Through purposeful play, we unlock endless possibilities for development.

Our Approach

At Purposeful Play Pediatrics, we believe in fostering growth and development through purposeful engagement and play. Our approach to pediatric occupational therapy is centered around the belief that children learn best when they're having fun. Through a combination of evidence-based techniques, personalized treatment plans, and a nurturing environment, we empower children to reach their full potential. By focusing on purposeful play, we address various developmental challenges while promoting independence and confidence in every child we serve.

We proudly provide occupational therapy services to children in Grande Prairie, AB, and the surrounding area.

Aimee is an Occupational Therapist registered with Alberta College of Occupational Therapy, holding a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Acadia University and a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University. Since completing her master’s in 2014, Aimee has called Grande Prairie home, where she has found passion in working with children across school, home, and clinic settings.

In 2020, Aimee embarked in the private practice setting and has proudly expanded it to Purposeful Play Pediatrics. Through her work, she intertwines purpose and play, bringing laughter and growth to the lives of children and families alike. Aimee's passion lies in crafting tailored sessions that celebrate each child's unique strengths and interests, ensuring every moment is filled with fun and meaningful progress.

  • Pediatric occupational therapists work with children and their families to promote functional independence in all their "occupations" - and for children, their occupations are activities that enable them to learn and develop life skills, be creative and play, and thrive in their relationships with others. Therefore, occupational therapists work with children who are having difficulty mastering one or many of their occupations.
